As I write this blog, I have not yet seen this episode of The Bonus Show, however, I can say with great certainty it is my favorite episode ever. Let me take you behind the scenes. After a grueling 12 hour flight (slightly less grueling for Jon & I, who spent the time sipping champagne in First Class), the cast & crew of The Bonus Show arrived on the volcanic isle of Kaui, greeted by the friendly native people, or “Kanaka Maoli”, as we came to know them. The sun, the sand, the surf- all beyond my greatest expectations. Jon & I learned native dancing, took scuba lessons, and worked on our tans poolside. We even had a nice dinner with Dog, The Bounty Hunter & his wife (they are HUGE Bonus Show fans!) I want to make you sit through hours of slide show vacation pictures, but Jon is scantily clad in most of them & I can’t be responsible for the wave of female attention this will stir up. I swear, we couldn’t walk around Hawaii without women throwing their coconut bras and begging for his autograph. Must be what it’s like to hang out with The Jonas Brothers.
Besides the endless tropical fun, we’ve got awesome clips. Remember that scammer Neil who brought on his fake “girlfriend” to play Stump the Booey and tried to bamboozle Will?!? Well, we’ve got the greenroom confrontation between those two that ends violently. Other highlights: It’s no secret (sorry in advance, JD), that Mr. Harmeyer has some trouble with the ladies. And this week, we learn that the trouble might start from his not-so-slick opening lines. But wait, there’s more! We get a rare glimpse inside a weekly creative meeting with the writing team in a new recurring bit we will call “The Creative Meeting” (clever, right?), Beetlejuice and Sal play games together and we meet some of Jason’s scalp zits. Because Jason has scalp zits. Which, as I write this, could potentially get in the way of our love connection over dipping sauce.
Annnnd…back by popular demand….THE RETURN OF TECHNO BEAVER!!!!!! Are you so excited?! I sincerely cannot get enough of Gary in the beaver suit. In fact, it’s tough to have normal conversations with him now without picturing the suit. Just last week, Gary & I were walking out of the studio together to head home after a taping, and as I watched him getting out his car keys, all I could think was that I’d prefer to see him handle those keys with giant beaver mitts on. It really makes everything more amusing.
All this, plus a “special” guest joins us in Hawaii. I don’t want to ruin the surprise, but prepare to see some half naked “Dancing with the Stars” caliber moves from someone….medicated.
Mahalo! Rachel
Ps- where’s my Techno Beaver ringtone?!? Come on people! I’m not tech savvy enough to make it myself, I’m counting on one of you to send it to me. If the song is going to be incessantly playing on repeat in my head 24/7, I might as well embrace it. Sigh.
Crossing Streams?!

There’s a big part of me that’s concerned about life after “Crossing Streams with Richard & Sal”. In fact, as I type this blog, I wonder if the amazing stream-crossing clip slated for this episode of The Bonus Show will even air. It makes me shudder to think about how many wasted pee breaks will occur with only one man urinating in a somber silence. We need a support group to bounce back from this new void in our lives. At least we can take comfort in the fact that we’ll always have that old footage immortalized in The Bonus Show vaults (more of a styrofoam beach cooler where we keep tapes).
Um, amazing news about this week’s Bonus Show! I actually made it into a clip! I feel so honored! Here’s the backstory- I was up in the studios to tape Bonus Show and Will & JD took me aside to discuss my impression of Will as the Apex Predator in their bullying dynamic. I will say, after hearing both sides, JD completely has it coming. At least part of the time. Watch the clip to find out why.
Up for debate on both the Wrap Up & Bonus Shows this week is a question that has plagued mankind throughout the ages (read: perverts throughout the week): does Lisa G enjoy quality “private time” with herself? Enquiring minds want to know, and we’ll tell you.
Also this week, we go back in time to witness Stuttering John pranking Scott the Engineer plus Ba Ba Booey’s Mail Bag is back with some insights on problematic green room guests.
All this…AND a big announcement about the secret location of NEXT week’s Bonus Show…get excited!!!

Bathroomgate.

Oh Stern fans, there’s so much Bonus Show goodness to look forward to this week. For instance, Will & Ronnie continue to taunt each other, Benjy makes a wonderful case as to why he should NEVER, EVER, EVVVVER be allowed to pet-sit for you AND we introduce a new segment called “Let’s Hear a Joke From Our Robotic Camera Operator Brian Phelan” (punchy title, guys).
Let me start off with this little gem: Sal may or may not have trimmed his pubes in our bathroom. We need to talk about this bathroom thing immediately. Primarily because I was up taping Bonus Show last Wednesday when the latest bathroomgate scandal went down and Ba Ba Booey RAN into the studio to say that maybe it was me. PUBLIC CLARIFICATION: I never use the Stern studio bathrooms for fear that this exact situation might occur! I would rather subscribe to the Richard Christy diaper wearing policy than use the Stern Show’s bathroom. SERIOUSLY, why can we not keep that bathroom in decent order?!? Also, thanks a lot Gary! Where were YOU during this whole ordeal?!? Thou doth protest too much methinks! When you point with one finger, you got 3 pointing back! Smelt it, dealt it! (*Working on other 4th grade references indicting Fa Fa Fohai, come back to me. Also I wish I had dramatic DUN-DUN-DUN music that auto played when you read this paragraph.)
Also on the bathroom theme, on this episode of The Bonus Show, I officially make the grossest comment I’ve ever made in my entire life. I’m not even going to repeat it in this blog. I vomited a little in my mouth when I read it in the script. So there’s that. And let’s never discuss it again.
And the final Bonus Show highlight I need to talk about is a clip of Jason Kaplan discussing his love of dipping sauces. Primarily because I could not agree more. I effing love dipping sauces and/or things that require dipping (like a chips & queso scenario). I would rather dip 20 mediocre things than eat one non-dipped amazing thing. Maybe it’s an infantile need to play with my food. And maybe we’re kindred spirits, Jason. Who knew we had so much in common? I’m starting to see you in a whole new light. Like a candle light. At a romantic dinner, filled with hundreds of dip-able items. Call me.
Enjoy the show!
Rachel
(PS- Sal, I don’t want to discourage you from grooming. God knows I have to look and your wiener in nearly every Bonus Show episode, so I genuinely appreciate you making the effort to clean it up a bit. Just maybe do it at home next time. Friendly, loving suggestion!)
(PPS- Tracey, thanks for fessing up to the bathroom debacle. Although I was well on my way to making a compelling case completely framing Gary, so I’m slightly disappointed.)
Techno Beavah!

Did you love Techno Beaver as much as I did?! I was telling Gary that generally after an episode of The Bonus Show, my twitter blows up with loving and supportive comments about my knockers. But after the premier of Techno Beaver, my girls were old news. I got a good hundred Techno Beaver comments, such as:
@HeyDigDiggy @RachelFineMusic "Techno Beaver?" that shit made me spit out my Crunchberries! Instant classic. Baba Booey will never live that down!! My favorite Bonus Episode yet.
Couldn’t agree more, Dig. And excellent cereal choice. I’m sorry you spit out a perfectly good mouthful of the Cap’ns goodness. May I remind you that Techno Beaver is to be watched at your own risk and neither Sirius nor In Demand is liable for lost cereal.
But it’s not all love- you know who was dissing The Beav? Scott DePace! On this episode, we go behind the scenes and watch Scott & Gary duke it out over the legitimacy of reviewing gadgets while wearing a giant beaver costume.
Speaking of woodland creatures, prepare to revisit our old friends, The Groundhog Brothers, on a new segment we introduce this week, entitled “Howard Stern Show’s: Blast from the Past”. I personally hope to involve some sort of rodent reference in every future episode. Jon, I’ll need you to dress like a guinea pig on the next episode please.
Other highlights I need to mention: Sal talks about not being able to get it up with his wife when he’s drunk (so romantic!), Mr. Skin brings up an excellent point when it comes to naming genitalia, and Andrew Dice Clay comes up with precious terms of endearment for our poor intern.
Enjoy.
Rachel
(PS- can you get the “techno beavah!” theme song out of your head?! It’s painfully, horribly, awesomely catchy. If that doesn’t scream “needs a ringtone!”, I don’t know what does.)
